Stalls at events
Whisper has marketing materials that may be suitable for a stall at an event:
- a roller banner from 2026 showing the hospital, 1000m W x 2m H from Solopress)
- a “Free sports massage” banner from 2026, for use on our marquee at Swim Serpentine.
We also have:
- Yellow flower-shaped party balloons. They are almost impossible to inflate and seal. Yellow bunting would be better
- A small folding table, very lightweight
- A bag of Ugandan scarves and jewellery that can be sold
Good African coffee from Uganda was very popular at our Royal Parks Half Marathon stall in 2015, with 37 cups served; Good African is no more but Redber Coffee in Guildford can supply Ugandan coffee.
Some notes on how to create a roller banner using GIMP 3.2
Section titled “Some notes on how to create a roller banner using GIMP 3.2”Solopress wants a CMYK PDF at 300dpi, with FOGRA39 colour profile. To produce this, set Image > Color Management > Soft proof profile to “ISO Coated v2 (ECI)”. If you don’t have that colour profile, it can be widely found online as
ISOcoated_v2_300_eci.icc and you can import it under Edit > Preferences > Color Management > Preferred profiles > CMYK profile > Select color profile from disk. Flatten the layers and export the completed design as a .tiff file,
selecting LZW compression (otherwise the file will be 500MB or so) and the ISO Coated v2 (ECI) soft proof profile. Wait for the progress bar at the bottom of the app to complete, it can take a minute or two to export
the full file. Then convert the .tiff to PDF using whichever tools you have available; imagemagick on Linux is a good one, some use Scribus.
